هذا البحث "ضوابط الفكر النحوي، دراسة تحليلية للأسس الكلية التي بنى عليها النحاة أراءهم" في محاولة لقراءة التراث النحوي، قراءة تاصيلية تبحث عن "النظام" الذي يشده، كما ضبطه "أهل العلم من نحاتنا القدامى، صدورًا من "ثوابته الكثيرة" و"ضوابطه المطردة" التي كانت تتحكم في "منظومته الفكرية" وهي قراءة مغرية وممتعة، ولكنها شاقة، فأنت تقرأ من خلال هذه "الثوابت" و"الضوابط" طرائف أهل هذا العلم، ومسالكهم في بناء المعرفة ومنهاهجم في تحليل "طريقة العرب في لسانها" و"معهود خطابها" و"أساليبها في تأليف الكلام، وأوجه استعمالاته، وإداراك مقاصده وغاياته" وتعالج فلسفتهم في "سبر أغوار الظاهرة اللسانية" و"استخلاص الصول والتعامل لها، وضبطها في قوانين يسهل التقاطها والاعتماد عليها".

This research, "The Controls of Grammatical Thought: An Analytical Study of the General Foundations on Which Grammarians Built Their Opinions," attempts to read the grammatical heritage, an authentic reading that seeks the "system" that binds it, as it was controlled by "the scholars of our ancient grammarians," stemming from its "many constants" and "consistent controls" that controlled its "intellectual system." It is an attractive and enjoyable reading, but it is arduous.
Through these "constants" and "controls," you read the novelties of the people of this science, and their paths in constructing knowledge. From there, you attack the analysis of "the Arabs' method in their language," "their customary discourse," and "their methods in composing speech, the ways of using it, and realizing its purposes and goals." It addresses their philosophy in "exploring the depths of the linguistic phenomenon," "extracting the principles and dealing with them, and controlling them in laws that are easy to grasp and rely upon."
